  9. When I first got my Falcon, I ran several tests which didn't show anything
  10. close to that speed. A program I found on my hard drive today claims to
  11. reach 6.0 Mbyte/s (read) in 320x240x2 (monochrome) mode and 3.8 Mbyte/s in
  12. 640x480x256 or 320x240xTC, which is close to what I remembered.
  13. (This is all on a VGA monitor.)

  15. The program does eight 'movem.l (a0)+,a2-a5' in a tight loop, which shouldn't
  16. be off by much from the maximum possible speed.

  19. Only a few days ago there were some numbers on c.s.amiga.programmer that
  20. could've been used to get figures for that machine, but I've lost those
  21. articles now. Perhaps someone else can find them, they were testing a bunch
  22. of c2p routines on different hardware.
  23. Still, they're talking about an accelerator bord that manages to copy
  24. 4 Mbyte/s to ChipRAM (256 colour mode, lowres) and that is apparently very
  25. slow for such as board.
  26. From this and some other data, I'd say that the Amiga can write at least
  27. 6 Mbyte/s to ChipRAM.
  28. At least as much as the Falcon in other words.

  34. The lack of a 256 byte data cache shouldn't matter much for BAD MOOD, but
  35. in general the '030 is slightly faster as you say.

  44. about the bus anyway.

  46. I think it's quite reasonable to interpret 'similar' as 'within 30% or so'.
